Graphic Design | Creative Machines
Creative Machines is an art fabrication and design studio specializing in large-scale public art, interactive installations, and custom sculptures for corporate, civic, and public spaces. I supported the creative development of projects from early concept through fabrication, translating client brands, themes, and ideas into visual designs for large-scale three-dimensional work.
Role:
Graphic designer, developed original 2D concepts, illustrations, typography, and graphic elements for large-scale sculptures and installations; translated client brands and project themes into designs for three-dimensional fabrication; collaborated with 3D designers and engineers to ensure creative concepts were visually impactful and technically feasible; created prototypes, presentation materials, RFP/RFQ designs, and supporting visual assets for client and public-facing projects.
Many Hats, Many Names
Located at Valley Metro Lightrail Stop in Phoenix, Many Names, Many Hats honors the families who lived in this neighborhood before this station was built. The station panels and towers are covered by 1379 family names associated with this neighborhood beginning with the census of 1940.
The extension of the Valley Metro line to his neighborhood in 2023 brought change to the neighborhood and a chance to reflect on history. To many long-term residents, it was important that their family name not be forgotten even if they no longer lived in the neighborhood. In the simplest and most powerful way possible, we covered the station panels and two towers with the family names of everyone who has lived in this neighborhood. Discovering those names entailed an extensive research and community outreach project.
We hope that the names give residents something concrete and permanent to remember their history. We hope that new people moving into the area see that this place that has been loved, worked in, and lived in by many before them. The hats hovering over the platform tell another history of this neighborhood. They are the hats worn by different generations to express their individual style and group membership. A family name is given to us, but a hat is something we choose to wear.

Stars and Stripes
Stars and Stripes is a series of large-scale sculptures that form an immersive public art environment within the 26.5-acre park in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The project combines monumental sculpture, light, landscape, astronomy, and storytelling into a civic space focused on reflection, exploration, and community gathering. Developed through more than 100 community interviews, the project emphasizes gratitude, curiosity, and shared civic identity rather than functioning as a traditional memorial.
At the center of the park is a collection of illuminated star sculptures and patriotic forms etched with quotes and imagery gathered from veterans, first responders, and frontline medical professionals. During the day, sunlight filters through layered translucent materials and cut metal forms. At night, integrated lighting transforms the park into a glowing landscape of projected text, symbols, and light.
3 Illuminated Stars
The core of the project is a series of monumental illuminated stars etched with quotes from veterans, first responders, frontline medical workers, and symbolic imagery related to service and sacrifice. Internally illuminated cut-metal and translucent materials project light, text, and imagery outward into the surrounding environment at night.
